Zella DC announces the launch of a micro datacenter-as-a-service offering.

Zella DC, an Australian provider of micro data centre, has launched a micro data center-as-a-service offering.

According to the company, the Zella MDCaaS eliminates upfront capital expenditures and replaces them with a ‘all-inclusive monthly fee’ that covers delivery, installation, support, and maintenance.

According to the company, the new ‘as a Service’ option is available for all of its existing micro data centres and offers a new Opex model that enables businesses to “process more data at the Edge.”

“Our solution is being integrated with other IT-as-a-service offerings such as SaaS, IaaS, and others. I’m thrilled to offer customers the benefits of our micro data centres without incurring upfront capital expenditures “Angie Keeler, co-founder and CEO , stated.

Previously known as Zellabox, Zella DC is a micro data centre provider based in Perth, Western Australia.

Zella received a AU$400,000 research and development grant from the state-run AMGC Commercialisation Fund in July to develop a “next-generation micro data centre” that leverages new lightweight, fire-resistant materials to improve design, scalability, and energy efficiency.
