Hyundai’s new compact SUV will come with three engine options; will rival the XUV300, EcoSport, Nexon and Vitara Brezza.

Hyundai Motor India will announce prices for its upcoming Venue compact SUV at its market launch slated to take place on May 21, 2019.  A few Hyundai dealers have unofficially begun accepting bookings for the Hyundai Venue, which will sit below the Creta in the Korean brand’s India line-up.

Hyundai will reveal images and information about the Venue SUV later today at simultaneous events in India and at the 2019 New York motor show, where the compact SUV will see its world premiere. The Hyundai Venue will rival the likes of the Ford EcoSport, Tata Nexon, Maruti Suzuki Vitara Brezza and the Mahindra XUV300 in our market. However, the model will be priced at the higher end of the segment – closer to EcoSport and the XUV300.

The Venue will come with Hyundai’s Blue Link connectivity suite includes 33 features, 10 of which have been added specifically for the Indian market. This technology adds a number of safety and security features, location-based services, AI-based voice commands and remote functions for the engine, AC, doors and more.

In terms of safety equipment, the Hyundai Venue will come standard with dual front airbags, ABS, seat-belt reminders and rear parking sensors. Creature comforts and other tech on top-spec trims are expected include a sunroof, a climate control system and an 8.0-inch touchscreen infotainment system that is Android Auto and Apple CarPlay compatible. The SUV will come with all black interior with subtle dose of soft-touch material and faux brushed aluminum trim.

The Venue’s exterior features the latest iteration of the Hyundai cascading grille – similar to the one in the latest Santa Fe and the Kona. The model, however, mimics the Hyundai Creta when viewed from the rear three-quarters.

A new 120hp, 1.0-litre turbo-petrol will debut on the Venue SUV, which will be paired to either a 6-speed manual or a 7-speed dual-clutch automatic gearbox. Additionally, a 1.2-litre petrol good for 83hp and a 90hp, 1.4-litre diesel will be available on the model as well.
